Templates are standard Word documents with embedded Cognidox markup. Authors work in Microsoft Word or LibreOffice, or edit and update templates directly in the Cognidox UI without offline modifications.

A purpose-built markup language handles conditionals, iterations and inline expressions. Assemble documents from reusable fragments such as cover pages, jurisdiction-specific clauses, appendices and HTML dynamic sections.

The Form Generator builds data-capture forms automatically from uploaded templates, with support for both HTML and XML forms. Forms can be embedded in any internal or external site.

The Form Generator is exposed to external systems, so external applications can provide the input data required for document generation without using the Cognidox UI.
