ROBERT \ AI-Augmented Workflow Orchestration Platform
Turn complex, multi-system processes into reliable, zero-touch automation with ROBERT, Cognity’s platform for designing, executing and operating enterprise workflows.
Orchestrate the full order lifecycle across commercial, product and service order layers, model any process in BPMN 2.0 and give operations teams AI-assisted control, on open-source infrastructure with no runtime licence fees.
Operations Dashboard: every flow with its Flow Key, status and Point of No Return state
From fragile integrations to governed orchestration
A single bundle order can require coordinated actions across ten or more network and IT systems, with strict sequencing, real-time data exchange and completion expected within minutes.
Point-to-point integrations, middleware buses and custom scripts were not built for this. They move messages but cannot govern stateful, multi-step workflows, and they show up in the metrics operations teams know well: fallout that consumes engineering capacity, STP rates below target and manual work that grows with volume.
ROBERT brings design, execution and operations together in one platform, so happy-path flows run end to end without intervention and exceptions are surfaced precisely and resolved quickly.
Design processes in an open standard
MODEL VISUALLY IN BPMN 2.0
A browser-based modeller built on bpmn.io supports the full BPMN 2.0 element set, including service, user and receive tasks, gateways, timers, messages and subprocesses. Process models are portable, standards-compliant XML.
CONFIGURE INSTEAD OF CODING
Domains, modes, templates and variables map each incoming order or request to the right flow variant by product, segment and channel. Creation delay rules adjust SLA schedules without a code deployment.
PROMOTE CHANGES SAFELY
DB Snapshot exports and imports the complete platform configuration as one file for environment promotion, point-in-time recovery and version comparison. A dry run exercises mode selection and graph generation without touching real domains.
Execute in parallel, recover with confidence
RUN INDEPENDENT ACTIVITIES AT THE SAME TIME
ROBERT builds a dependency graph for every order. Activities with no mutual dependency start as soon as their predecessors complete, reducing total cycle time by 40–70% compared with sequential orchestration.
ROLL BACK CLEANLY BEFORE THE POINT OF NO RETURN
Before the business-defined Point of No Return, cancellation triggers compensating rollback in reverse dependency order. After it, cancellation is handled operationally, so a partial rollback never leaves a worse state than the original failure.
VALIDATE DATA AT EVERY BOUNDARY
A shared execution data object flows through the workflow. Every domain response is merged through schema-aware patching, and format violations raise a structured incident at the boundary instead of failing silently downstream.
NEVER PROCESS THE SAME ORDER TWICE
Each flow carries a Flow Key derived deterministically from the order request, preventing duplicate processing in retry and high-availability scenarios.

Orchestrate the full order lifecycle
COMMERCIAL ORDER MANAGEMENT
ROBERT normalises orders from POS, telesales, self-care and APIs in XML or JSON, gates them on credit, fraud and consent checks, coordinates contract generation and e-signature, then decomposes it into product and service orders.
PRODUCT ORDER MANAGEMENT
Each product in the commercial order is orchestrated as its own product order, with feasibility checks, resource reservations and pre-provisioning running in parallel. Service activation starts only when every product prerequisite is confirmed, and failed reservations are released automatically.
SERVICE ORDER MANAGEMENT
Provisioning across mobile, fixed, IP, digital and overlay domains runs concurrently, with Point of No Return events published to billing, notification and inventory, and status flowing back to the commercial layer in real time.
SINGLE-LAYER, MULTI-LAYER OR HYBRID
Use one ROBERT instance for an end-to-end process, a hierarchy of layers for complex decomposition, or a mix of both, adopting domain by domain as you retire legacy point solutions.

Add domains without touching the others
ONE CONTRACT FOR EVERY DOMAIN
Each domain implements a forward activity and an Undo activity through the Domain Activity Contract. New domains join the orchestration graph without changes to existing ones, and each executor scales and upgrades independently.
EVENT-DRIVEN BY DESIGN
Runtime message contracts such as AWAIT_PATCH, PATCH_RESPONSE, CANCEL_REQUESTED, PONR_REACHED and FAIL_FLOW govern every interaction, so flows wait for external data without polling and resume as soon as it arrives.
Keep people in the loop
EMBED HUMAN DECISIONS IN AUTOMATED FLOWS
User tasks pause a flow for approvals, reviews or exception handling. Operators see the full context, complete a form pre-populated with execution data and submit a decision that drives the next path.
ASSIGN BY ROLE, ENFORCE SLAS
Tasks are assigned by role through Keycloak, tracked from creation to completion, and escalated automatically when timer events show a deadline has passed.
Operate with full visibility
INSPECT EVERY FLOW
Follow each instance on its live BPMN graph, with item hierarchy, instance history and execution data. Add, cancel or move nodes, review the staged changes and apply them in one step.
RECOVER EXCEPTIONS AT SCALE
A global fallout queue filters incidents by process, error type, state and time. Batch retry recovers all eligible incidents in one action, and messages can be published to unblock flows waiting for an event that never arrived.
MONITOR PLATFORM HEALTH
Prometheus-compatible metrics cover engine health, throughput, job latency and replication state.

Put AI to work in operations and design
DIAGNOSE FASTER
The Monitoring Dashboard AI Agent finds flows by reference or order number, explains their status, identifies the failing activity and recommends a retry, skip or process change. First-line teams can resolve exceptions without escalating to senior engineers.
CHANGE WITH CONFIDENCE
The Development Platform AI Agent explains why a request was routed to a given flow, guides BPMN design and proposes mode or template changes, which are deployed only after operator confirmation and recorded in the audit trail.
KEEP KNOWLEDGE IN THE PLATFORM
The agent makes institutional flow knowledge accessible to every authorised user, reducing dependence on a few key people.
Open foundations, without lock-in
BUILT ON PROVEN OPEN COMPONENTS
ROBERT runs on the Zeebe BPMN engine, the open ISO/IEC 19510 BPMN 2.0 standard and Keycloak identity management, with no runtime licence fees. Costs scale with compute, not vendor licence structures.
ENTERPRISE-GRADE AND CLOUD-NATIVE
A distributed Zeebe broker cluster with Raft replication fails over automatically without losing workflow state. Platform services and domain executors run as stateless Kubernetes workloads on premises, in private or public cloud, or hybrid, with rolling updates that never affect in-flight instances.
SECURE AT EVERY LAYER
OAuth 2.0 bearer tokens protect every API, with domain-scoped RBAC, TLS on all interfaces, LDAP and Active Directory federation, and immutable flow history as an audit trail.
Aligned with industry standards
TM FORUM OPEN DIGITAL ARCHITECTURE
ROBERT is a native TMF701 Process Flow implementation and provides the orchestration runtime behind TMF622 Product Ordering, TMF641 Service Ordering and TMF702 Resource Ordering, with event handling aligned to TMF688. Process structures can be mapped to eTOM Fulfilment for traceability.
BEYOND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
The same open architecture adapts to domain standards in other industries, from HL7 FHIR in healthcare to ISO 20022 in financial services and ISA-95 in manufacturing.
Apply ROBERT to real business needs
